Chain Stays
The chain stays were laminated up on a form work, there are a total of 6 layers glued together for stiffness and strength.
After glueing up the were cut to shape and then the slots for the dropouts and hole to fit over bottom bracket insert drilled.
Finally being glued to the front triangle.
Seat Stays
The seat stays were also laminated over a form but these were only 3 laminates as I was hoping for these to have a little flex and give to increase ride comfort.
The dropouts were laser cut from Stainless Steel.
Sanding and Finishing
After a lot of sanding and finishing off the whole frame was given six coats of a polyurethane varnish to keep the weather out and make it look gorgeous!
